Basic Emergency Medical Technician Certification
Each semester, we offer a series of courses that meet the requirements of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. These courses include:
- EMC 110 - EMT Theory & Practice (3)
- Corequisite: EMC 110L- EMT Theory and Practice Lab (2)
- Corequisite: EMC 104 - Healthcare Basic Life Support (Professional CPR Certification) (1)
Total Curriculum Requirements.............................6 hours
The Emergency Medical Technician Certificate is awarded by the Department of Fire Protection & Paramedic Science. Course work includes Kentucky's mandated HIV/AIDS Awareness Course, Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Awareness Course, and IS 100, 200, 700 and 800.
