EMC B.Sc. - Paramedic Science Option

Our Paramedic Science option is intended to provide a deep education in clinical sciences, and is designed to fullfill the prequisities of medical schools and Physician Assistant schools. In addition to the core classes common among all of our degree options and the university's general education requirements, this track features numerous courses in the "hard sciences" such as chemistry, biology, and physics. The 300-level series of courses included prepares the student to take the NREMT Paramedic exam.

The credit hours of each course are listed beside them in parenthesis. 


General Education Courses totalling 36 hours

Student Success Seminar- JSO 100 (1).
This course requirement is waived for students transfering in 30 or more credit hours.

A Writing Intensive Course
Hours can be incorporated into Major, Supporting, Gen Ed, or Free Electives categories.

42 hours of Upper Division Courses
Distributed throughout Major/Supporting/Gen Ed/Free Electives categories.

An Applied Critical and Creative Thinking (ACCT) course.  
Emergency Medical Care majors will fulfill ACCT with EMC 362(3).

Total Hours of University Graduation Requirements: 37 hours

Applicants to this program who are currently certified Paramedics may be able to receive credit for up to 18 hours of these requirements.
